NATURE DES SOLS : Galets roulés sur sols argilo-calcaire, argile rouge décomposée en sous-sol.

CEPAGES : Grenache, syrah, mourvèdre, cinsault, clairette, vaccarèse, bourboulenc, roussanne, counoise, muscardin, terret noir, picardan, piquepoul.

La particularité de cette cuvée est que les cépages sont assemblés à la vigne, chaque cépage étant présent sur l’ensemble des parcelles. Les 13 cépages autorisés par l’appellation Châteauneuf du Pape sont présents dans cette cuvée.

VINIFICATION :  Récolte à maturité optimum des tanins et des sucres, cuvaison longue de 3 à 5 semaines de tous les cépages déjà assemblés au pressoir. Aucune levure autre que les levures indigènes. Elevages en demi-muids et vieux foudres de chêne.

DEGUSTATION : Robe pourpre. Nez puissant aux notes de fruits rouges et noirs intenses (framboises et cerises noires), relayés par des touches d’épices, de poivre et de cuir. Bouche complexe où un bel équilibre s’exprime. Finale suave sur des tanins marqués.

ACCORDS METS & VINS : Potentiel de garde de 10 ans. A servir chambré (16 à 18° C), avec une côte de bœuf, un rôti de veau, un gibier en sauce ou des plats épicés.

Romain Duvenay is a talented oenologist associated with the company NewRhône Millésimes, known as one of the finest palates of the regions by his peers.

After perfecting his art in Bordeaux, in Languedoc and Burgundy and while working for a national restaurant trade distributor, he quickly falls in love with all the resources that the Rhône Valley has to offer and settles there at the dawn of this century. Knowing all the finest points of grape varieties and terroirs, in 2010 Romain Duvernay creates the brand which bears his name, showcasing his talent equally with appellations from the north and the south of the Rhône Valley.

As for Jean-Marc Pottiez, he has roamed wine markets for 30 years, from the nearest to the most distant ones, creating or developing brands in synch with the evolutions of consumers’ expectations from London to Sydney and San Francisco to Tokyo, gathering in his marketing know-how and understanding of the needs and concerns of distributors, the real craftsmen of brands implantation on their markets.

Impressed by the realistic assessment and intelligence of markets that have developed New World wines, with a speed that has often surprised French and European historical producers, he is nevertheless the advocate of Appellations that honour our national wine regions.

Within these, the Rhône Valley appears to him to be, for the past few years, better adapted in value for quality while richer in history and ready to face the now very dynamic international competition. This is why at the beginning of 2016 he created the company newRhône Millésimes.
